Experience/Education Required:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related curriculum, or an equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Eight (8) to ten (10) years related engineering experience, including experience with certification methods or processes.

Position Purpose:
The Gulfstream ODA requires all certification projects to be in compliance with FAA regulations, policy, guidance and directives. This position will have the responsibilities, accountability and authority to successfully manage specific approval programs to include new designs under development for new or Amended Type Certificate projects, post production Supplemental Type Certificate, Major Repair and Major Alteration, and Parts Manufacturing Approvals in compliance with all FAA requirements. This position will be responsible for engaging appropriate technical resources to engage corporate policies, procedures and strategies for complying with FAA and other certification authorities requirements. This will involve coordinating and often leading discussions with certification authorities at many levels. The Gulfstream ODA ability to build its base of qualified persons for assumption of project level approval authority delegation from the FAA will be a function of project level experience, building trust and confidence in the organizations adherence to processes, procedures and documentation as demonstrated in project execution.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1) Successfully create and manage specific design approval programs in adherence to all Gulfstream ODA approved process and procedures, including coordinating ODA AR activities, resolving project related issues and development of project plans with Gulfstream engineering management and staff to meet aircraft delivery schedules.

2) Act under the Site Program Administrator, Initial Phase TC Program Administrator, and/or Gulfstream ODA Enterprise Program Administrator(s) for management of assigned projects to ensure the correct certification method is applied and compliance to all regulatory requirements is achieved.

3) Interface with support staff personnel for the completion of certification plans, compliance checklists, drawing lists and all other certification related documentation necessary for issuance of ODA certification approvals of assigned projects.

4) Provide guidance/support to Gulfstream Engineering and Quality on completion certification issues.

5) Obtain Gulfstream ODA leadership concurrence on approaches to regulatory issues resolution and requirements, compliance and when necessary present ODA positions to the appropriate regulatory agencies.

6) Project applications include new Gulfstream products, the current Gulfstream product line and the product lines of other airframe manufacturers (e.g. Dassault Aviation, Bombardier, Cessna, Hawker-Beech). With training and experience the ODA Project Administrator will learn the various certification methods, which method best fits the project scope and when a specific certification method must be applied based upon FAA requirement.

7) The ODA Project Administrator assignment may be for current production airplanes alterations or repairs conducted under a current Type Certificate, or post airplane production-Final Phase/Product Support alterations and repairs with reporting dependant on assignment.

Additional Functions:
1) Perform other duties as assigned.

2) An ODA Project Administrator may or may not have approval authorities delegated by the FAA.

Other Requirements:
1) Knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR) and experience at making compliance findings.

2) Experience in ODA processes and procedures used in design data approval of major alterations, as well as correctly applying the various FAA certification methods to a given project are preferred.

3) Computer literateword processing and spreadsheets.
