Experience/Education Required:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 5 years of experience as an Aerospace Engineer or a related occupation.
- Will also accept a Master's degree plus 3 years of Aerospace Engineering experience or a Ph.D.
- with 1 year of Aerospace Engineering experience.
The individual filling this position will participate in trade studies to determine aircraft configuration, material selections and new manufacturing technologies; provide stress support to the designers for design development of the aircraft; review design data for structural integrity, perform stress analysis, sign drawings for stress and develop any test requirements; design data will be reviewed using CATIA V5; stress analysis will be performed by finite element methods and/or hand analysis using industry standard methods or company proprietary methods; support reviews of drawings associated with the wing, fuselage or empennage made from metallic or composite construction; write the necessary stress reports required for certification of the design modification, as needed; co-sign on drawings as well as the reports; may supervise a small group of employees and be in charge of a component of structure.
