Experience/Education Required:
- Operating Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Education & Training Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Engineering, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (at least six (6) years of related experience of increasing responsibility) sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Minimum of four (4) years formal experience in requirements planning, initial phase planning, inventory control, or manufacturing engineering (MRP II).
- APICS and CMFGE Certifications preferred.
- Experience/Education Required Experience Requirements: At least four (4) years experience with spreadsheet and database tools.
- Comprehensive understanding in current materials, purchasing and manufacturing principles, and their application to supply chain management strategies.
- Proficiency in reading or interpreting engineering drawings/specifications.
- Basic knowledge of Kanban / Demand Pull Systems.
- Problem Resolution Opportunities: Analyze and resolve issues to maximize customer service at the lowest total cost.

Position Purpose:
Under minimal direction, develop manufactured Bills-of-Materials by reading, understanding and translating Engineering drawings and other technical specification requirements. Convert resulting product structures into detailed manufactured / purchased requirements in a timely fashion in order to support customer needs and meet operational objectives. Perform complex technical studies as well as analysis of existing and proposed operations. Manage the implementation of engineering changes as well as the development, analysis and management of inventory levels. Provide training for persons in the Material Planner I position. Has close interaction and involvement with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Accounting and Material Control as required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1) Utilizing CAD/CATIA data and other source documents, develop accurate and timely manufacturing BOM product structures for planning and control of materials and schedule.

2) Perform all requirements planning functions utilizing formalized MRP II systems and KANBAN. Ensure acceptable levels of inventory and customer service to Operations within operating objectives.

3) Understand and establish planning parameters that ensure continuity of supply to Operations consistent with initial and Final Phase rates and supplier lead times.

4) Ensure system data integrity which impacts planning and supply chain processes.

5) Train and audit co-workers and Level I Material Planners as necessary.

6) Perform technical studies of a complex nature, conduct analysis of operations (existing or proposed). Recommend detailed methodology of complex assemblies and installations as well as components.

7) Conduct research, investigation, and analysis in connection with assigned planning to validate planning. Assist in make-or-buy proposals as needed.

8) Active involvement in key projects and implement lean initiatives as needed.

Additional Functions:
1) Effectively interact with Buyers, Analysts, Engineers and Operations personnel to ensure a continuity of supply of material to Operations.

2) Perform other duties as assigned
