Material Control Analyst in Savannah, GA

Experience/Education Required:
- High School Diploma/GED.Five (5) years experience in inventory, dispatching, or related field.
Position Purpose:
Under direct supervision, coordinate material on the shop floor to include initiating actions internal to Gulfstream that ensures material is available to manufacturing in accordance with Master schedule. Initiate actions to ensure identification and approval of alternative part numbers for use in manufacturing, when needed; responsible for tracking material to meet manufacturing schedules. Obtain authorization for transfer of material from aircraft to another; provide information to ensure aircraft cost roll up is accurate. Identify root causes and make suggested corrective actions to prevent future material delays on the shop floor.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1) Communicate with supporting departments to ensure on-time delivery of required materials to satisfy manufacturing requirements.
2) Identify and analyze recurring critical path items to prevent proposing manufacturing problems; work solutions to help remove barriers in order to improve production rates; coordinate solutions on problem issues from customers; report and initiate actions to minimize negative impacts.
3) Track, analyze, and status the actual manufacturing schedule and its rate position to the planned Master Schedule; identify trends in production schedules and process issues; develop applicable reports and communicate recommendations to management.
4) Coordinate with supporting departments to ensure integrity of schedules, job status, work order release and material shortages; monitor and ensure aircraft cost per work order for accuracy, maintain post deduct inventory, aged unit price changes and work order status; responsible for accurate inventory transactions.
5) Provide Materials Management with daily status on aircraft flow, position drivers, critical path components, and work order status and cost variances using applicable reports.
6) Forecast and analyze major drivers that are impacting manufacturing schedules and identify process improvements to prevent missing completion goals of the Master Schedule; maintain work order releases to the manufacturing schedule; analyze causes of incorrect inventory transactions and report to management discrepancies of financial impacts.
7) Develop and status recovery plans for forecasted and actual critical items; coordinate implementations of Recovery Plans with Purchasing, Material Liaison, SSTs, Suppliers, Finance and Manufacturing Operations.
8) Responsible for analyzing and tracking DCMs, Engineering recommended changes, and In-House completion processes; communicate with Off-Site Coordinators to maintain current status on all issues; audit inventory processes and report error frequency and causes for management review.
9) Develop process measurements and reports as required; develop charts and graphs to aid Production Managers and Material Management to evaluate schedules.
10) Responsible for returning to stock serviceable materials to inventory and to vendors for cost avoidance; supports inventory recovery efforts to mitigate costs
11) Coordinate the requisitioning and purchasing of materials to support AOG and line stoppages for materials.
12) Maintain and track high-value Point of Use Avionics material in support of manufacturing build schedule.
Additional Functions:
1) Comply with all company safety regulations.
2) Participate in Lean Manufacturing processes and capable of completing Lean training.
3) Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
1) Requires PC and Microsoft Office experience, specifically in using Excel to create charts and graphs.
2) Capable of working in automated systems including ERP and WMS applications.
3) Must possess written and verbal communication skills.
4) Strong problem solving skills.
