Experience/Education Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of formal inspection training program within 90 days of assignment.
- ASQC Certification preferred.Four (4) years aircraft inspection experience.
- Gulfstream experience preferred.
Position Purpose:
In a team oriented environment, under minimal supervision, perform assigned tasks of an MRB Inspector to ensure all nonconforming articles are controlled and processed in accordance with the FAA Approved Production Certificate Quality Manual Procedures.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1) Evaluate accuracy and process documented nonconformance in relation to the product and to the design data for processing through the MRB systems.
2) Determine/concur with MRB Engineering to ensure proper disposition for nonconformance processed through the MRB system.
3) Review nonconformance documentation for compliance to FAA Approved Quality Assurance Manual processes and procedures.
4) Provide notification to those groups (i.e. RCC, IPT, Procurement Quality Engineering and Supplier Liaison ME) impacted by a final disposition in order to minimize part shortage situations.
5) Assist in the developments of area-specific instructions, Internal Operating Procedures and Production Certificate Quality Manual Procedures/Forms for MRB functions.
6) Train and assist personnel included in the following groups, but not limited to: subordinate MRB Inspectors, delegated production MRB Inspectors, shop floor personnel and Manufacturing Engineering in proper documentation/processing of MRB actions.
7) Work closely with personnel within the IPTs and MBUs to establish and maintain the best processes and procedures to meet individual and Corporate needs while complying with approved Production Certificate Quality Manual Procedures.
8) Take an active role in support of floor personnel, IPT and Procurement Quality Engineer efforts for resolution of nonconformance issues.
9) Coordinate with Procurement Quality on repetitive discrepancies and articles that fall under the Bad Actor status in an effort to determine root cause and establish corrective action.
10) Research nonconformance histories for NFF (No Fault Found), Supplier RNC (Rejection Notice Changes) to better assist Quality Assurance Supplier Control Group efforts and perform associated stock sweeps when needed
11) Promote and maintains a cohesive working relationship within the MRBs and the supported organizations.
12) Track and reduces backlog of open and aged discrepancies at all GAC internal and external facilities to maintain up to date discrepancy process completion.
Additional Functions:
1) Ensure proper use and storage and calibration of area tools and equipment.
2) Work independently and with others.
3) Provide Manufacturing and Inspection Routing Instructions for Test, re-inspection and simple rework operations.
4) Maintain an orderly and neat work environment in keeping with the Gulfstream Continuous Improvement Standards.
5) Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
1) Must have potential of working independently in an individual MRB area.
2) Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation inclusive of all referenced specifications, knowledge of 3D Engineering and Catia is preferred.
3) A thorough knowledge of the Production Certificate Quality Assurance Procedures.
4) Must have sound problem solving, follow-up and customer relation skills based on mature judgment and knowledge of the business.
5) Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint preferred.
6) Possesses the initiative, accuracy, availability and eagerness to deliver the very best MRB processing service in order to maintain the production schedule while assuring compliance with the Production Certificate Quality Manual Procedures.
7) Proficient in the use of calibrated measuring equipment including, but not limited to dial calipers, depth gages, protractors, plug gages and scales) is required.
