IT Business Analyst Specialist in Savannah, GA

Experience/Education Required:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, math, a related curriculum; or an equivalent combination of education and technical training/experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Minimum of 7 years experience leading Business Analysis activities for complex, technology-based business initiatives.

Position Purpose:
Under administrative direction, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education, experience and/or specialized training to assist in the development or improvement of technology solutions by providing business analysis support for larger and more complex applications, including analyzing and documenting business processes and translating user requirements to software development teams. Provides training and plans, assigns, monitors and leads the work of others. Works independently on difficult assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity with some latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Recommends or provides comprehensive solutions to complex problems. Results are evaluated at agreed upon milestones for effectiveness in achieving specified results. Extensive contact with internal customers is required to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex issues.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1) Engages stakeholders and technology users in identifying, analyzing, refining and documenting business requirements for IT systems.
2) Reviews operational procedures and methods; maps current business processes; defines and analyzes business activities; identifies best practices; and recommends improvements.
3) Develops conceptual design documents, including alternative solutions, scope of work, functional specifications and logical skeletons for new systems.
4) Serves as a liaison between end users and software development teams, including functioning as a subject matter expert (SME) in translating requirements to software development teams.
5) Makes formal written and oral presentations on analysis findings, recommendations and system specifications.
6) Identifies requirements for testing, develops test plans and scripts and coordinates testing, as required.
7) Works with technical resources to assist with IT application/integration testing.
8) Follows up with internal clients about completed tasks to ensure client satisfaction.
9) Adheres to established standards and maintains currency in business analysis practices, procedures and techniques.
10) Daily contact with department employees and other departments to exchange job-related information.

2) Trains, coaches and mentors others.
3) Leads projects as required.

Other Requirements:
1) Good knowledge of information systems used to support manufacturing to include an understanding of integrated systems preferred.
2) Good working knowledge of IT system environments/platforms and development tools.
3) Excellent planning, time management and organization skills.
4) Concepts of risk management, issue tracking, change management and requirements gathering required.
5) Advanced concepts, practices and procedures for analyzing business processes required.
6) Ability to conceptualize and think creatively.
7) Good consulting, client relations skills and customer service orientation.
8) Strong, hands on experience of BA methodologies, concepts, tools and techniques; particularly flowcharting, ability to read and write scripts and the ability to interpret technical requirements.
9) Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation expertise.
10) Excellent interpersonal, people and people management skills (e.g. listening, coaching, facilitating, tact/diplomacy, employee relations, development, motivation, team building)
11) A Masters degree may be used to offset one year of experience; PhD may offset two years of experience.
