Experience/Education Required:
- High School graduate or GED.
- Qualified in related composite assembly processes including basic knowledge of composite fastener installation.
- Must be able to use basic mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems.Ten (10) years minimum of related experience in composite manufacturing processes.

Position Purpose:
In a Research and Development Lab environment and under little or no supervision, perform one or more of the following composite part manufacturing functions: autoclave operation, complex lay-up, cutting, bagging, trimming, complex repairs and assembly. Function as a team member and assist in developing innovative composite construction processes. Organize and perform new job tasks with a working knowledge of composite engineering and processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1) Utilize electronic engineering data direct from Catia V5 and Solumina to manufacture a wide variety of unique composite aircraft parts which meet engineering specifications and expectations.
2) Coordinate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Assurance personnel to develop and document processes and procedures for parts manufacture utilizing, state of the art, composite materials and technology.
3) Troubleshoot and problem solve issues arising from the production and development of new composite parts.
4) Perform self-inspection and sign-off/approve defect free components for own work and others.
5) Proficient in the use of an autoclave, lay-up techniques and composite assembly processes for the production and development of new parts.
6) Maintain and use all logs and records in both paper and electronic formats as required.
7) Plan, organize and execute work schedules, leading and guiding other personnel, in order to achieve program expectations.
Additional Functions:
1) Demonstrate good shop practices at all times; maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs and comply with all safety regulations.
2) Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
1) Able to understand mix ratios used in measuring two part adhesives, potting compounds and sealants.
2) Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
3) General knowledge of computers; knowledge of CATIA V5, FiberSim and Solumina beneficial.
4) Proficient at directing and monitoring the work of team members.
5) Demonstrates the ability to meet the requirements of the Manufacturing Competencies at the Guiding level.
