Tax Manager II in Savannah, GA
Unique Skills Required:
The successful candidate will have: multi-tasking, team leadership experience, ability to establish trust and communication with others, large project management, exposure to Lean initiatives, legal research and writing; Sec 199, R&D, and multi-state experience for large corporation; ASC 740 review and disclosures.

Experience/Education Required:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related curriculum; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Masters in Tax strongly preferred.
- CPA designation is required.
- Proficient in the use of tax and accounting database software.Minimum of 7 years experience in federal and state corporate tax.
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

Position Purpose:
Supervises the preparation of corporate tax returns and related reports, as well as the maintenance of tax records for all sites. Supervises the tax planning and tax research functions as they relate to tax consequences for all sites. Supervises the financial statement reporting of taxes for all sites.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1) Reviews and prepares consolidated tax returns.

2) Performs tax research and prepares supporting memorandums.

3) Monitors or participates in the development and implementation of ongoing tax strategies and policies.

4) Oversees audits and defends against proposed adjustments.

5) Coordinates or compiles documents and information in response to requests from tax authorities.

6) Coordinates tax examinations with government agencies.

7) Plans the overall operations of one or more areas or units and ensures achievement of goals and objectives either directly or through subordinate staff.

8) Develops, coaches and/or mentors subordinate staff.

9) Conducts performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustments; schedules and approves overtime; take disciplinary action, as necessary, etc.

10) Develops, interprets, and ensures the consistent application of organization policies

11) Establishes and controls budgets.

12) Develops or approves recommendations to change systems, policies, and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation. Establishes deadlines

Additional Functions:
1) Performs other duties as assigned.

1) A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer.
